CDR PAUL A. POVLOCK JOINT MILITARY OPERATIONS DEPT FACULTY, NAVAL WAR COLLEGE
COMMANDER PAUL A. POVLOCK, USN, joined the Joint Military Operations Department faculty in 2004 following command of USS San Francisco (SSN 711). He was graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marine Engineering. His sea tours include duty on USS Lafayette (SSBN 616) (GOLD), USS Richard B. Russell (SSN 687), USS Albuquerque (SSN 706) and USS Philadelphia (SSN 690). Significant shore tours include duty on the Joint Staff as the Navy Branch Chief of the Reconnaissance
Operations Division (J38) and as an Instructor at the U.S. Naval Academy. Commander Povlock also holds an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland and an M.A. in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College.
